Recap: "Black Effect Podcast Network Festival 2023"

Recap: "Black Effect Podcast Festival 2023" by Donney Rose (CreActiv)

"We Talk Back," Featuring Special Guest. Porsha Williams, Hosted by two unapologetically black women with an opinion who talk back, hosted by TamBam and AJ

Last month on April 22nd 2023, the Black Coffee Company team had the amazing opportunity to vend at the inaugural Black Effect Podcast Festival here in our home base of Atlanta. The festival – creation of media mogul, co-host of The Breakfast Club, and Black Effect Podcast co-founder Lenard “Charlamagne tha God” McKelvey – featured live on-stage episodes, panel discussions, a career corner, and a multitude of minority-owned vendors coming together to bask in a dope, family-oriented atmosphere.

Amber Owens founder of "Support A Dope Black Business," captured all the media for the Black Coffee Co. team

She Dannaya, Author of "The Hope Frequency." She loved our "Love Below" iced latte!!

The festival was the first event for a couple of our newest team members, who were able to jump full steam ahead and represent the Black Coffee Company brand in an atmosphere of hyper visibility.

Evelyn LeBlanc our "Director of Ops" & Ayron Butler our "Director of Design" welcoming Colby our "Communications Coordinator" to his first Black Coffee Co. Activation!!

The sold-out event brought out attendees and entrepreneurs from across the U.S. and locations, such as Toronto and Jamaica, that got a taste of what Black Coffee, as well as the city of Atlanta, has to offer.

Barring a few minor logistical hiccups, our overall experience at the Black Effect Podcast Festival went off without a hitch. We received immense assistance and hospitality from the festival coordinators, specifically Shaileen Santoro, the Senior Vice President of Live Events and Entertainment at iHeartMedia, and Nicky Sparrow, iHeartMedia’s Senior Vice President of Multicultural Sales.

Nicky Sparrow, SVP of Multicultural Sales, for iHeartMedia introduced us to John Hope Bryant, Founder & CEO, of Operation HOPE

We got to meet some of the network’s most dynamic podcast stars, such as WeezyWTF of the wildly popular and provocative show Whorible Decisions, and even snapped a couple of pictures with Charlamagne tha God, who gave us an on-stage shout-out!

Overall, our time at the Black Effect Podcast Festival was an excellent lead-in event ahead of the Black Coffee Fest in June. Our booth generated loads of interest, and we gained a fair amount of new followers across social media. We not only landed on the radar of several like-minded individuals from across the country, but we also received the immeasurable benefit of meeting a great deal of Atlanta residents who we hope will join us for our festival.
