It’s pretty crazy to think about going back inside, isn’t it? I mean, we are in unprecedented times, and no one really knows how to act or what’s coming next! Everything is so dependent on human behavior, and we all know how unpredictable that can be. Even still, as a business or a person concerned with the future, one must rely on known certainties while also trying to account for unpredictability. How do you get ahead of the curve? How do you “pre-pivot”? What are your contingency plans?
The Black Coffee Company is considering all of these questions and working to position the business to withstand the “next wave” of disruptors on multiple fronts. You should be doing this too! With that said, one way to achieve growth in such a chaotic environment is to strengthen existing partnerships through re-engagement and strategy sessions. If you are not talking to partners about The Going Concern, you should probably reconsider the benefit of that partnership. This is how business works and should become common practice year over year.
It is said time and again that we are stronger together. This is not limited to social causes or solidarity in demanding political change. We are stronger when we band together to lift one another. We are stronger when we carry each other not only in complementary ways, but almost more importantly, in supplementary ways! As a black owned community-oriented company, we understood the assignment when the Pandemic first hit. We did our best to give voice to those entrepreneurs suffering business interruption by establishing and hosting “The Black Coffee Company Virtual Expo & Shopping Network” events. This was required… it is largely the reason we even exist. We are our brother’s (and sister’s) keeper!
Ultimately, it boils down to capacity and willingness to keep going. As we navigate Q3 and prepare for Q4, our mantra has become: Rest if you must, but don’t quit! We by no means have it all figured out. In fact, we struggle through hard decisions on a daily basis. What we do know is that we want to be around, and we want to continue pushing our community to achieve more. Let’s get out here, have some fun, and secure the bag … together!
